Give & Surf’s three month Gap Year Semester in Panama is designed to provide a hands-on educational experience that is service-oriented and immerses participants in the local culture. This unique opportunity allows participants to volunteer, learn Spanish, and participate in a wide range of activities & excursions in Bocas del Toro, Panama. Participants will volunteer in the local schools by helping to teach preschool & primary school and leading extracurricular activities. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with staff, volunteers and community members from around the world. Integrated into the curriculum & experiences are the key themes of service learning, social & environmental responsibility, and teamwork.

Sample weekly schedule:

1:30- 5:30 Lesson & activity planning for the week Volunteer at Community Center Excursion to Red Frog Beach (dif activity each week) Volunteer at Community Center Errands in Bocas Town (Wifi, laundry, groceries) Snorkeling trip to Coral Key
6-8 Cook family-style dinners Dinner in town
