There is a dynamic crew of individuals both local and foreign dedicated to supporting the programs in Panama. Please contact us at info@giveandsurf.org to join the team and help support the organization.

Neil Christiansen

The founder and brainchild behind Give & Surf serves as the captain whether he’s jungle living or doing development work in the states.  Packing more excitement and energy than the normal human, Neil is a modern day energizer bunny.  Learn more about Give & Surf through his eyes here.

La Loma Jungle Lodge

La Loma Jungle Lodge is family to us.  Henry, Margaret, little Lucho, and the rest of the gang have our back.  La Loma has helped the local community of Bahia Honda for ten years and it was their guidance and support that has allowed us to do what we do.  Give and Surf partners with La Loma to provide a number of community development projects.  We look forward to many collaborative efforts and good times with our La Loma family in the future.

Your continued support and giving hearts havebrought so much to the children of Bahia Honda.  You are true ambassadors of what it means to becompassionate.  We cannot thank you enough for being such wonderful supporters of the education programs.

Eddy Gomez

Eddie

Eddie is our knight in shining armor.  Eddy is the wave behind the surfboard that is Give and Surf. Our unwavering captain can fix anything, and his immense knowledge of the island archipelago is invaluable when it comes to transporting our precious preschool cargo.  Eddie is also a baseball and volleyball legend in Bahia Honda, and enjoys fishing, painting dolphins, and sharing his knowledge of the flora and fauna of Bocas del Toro.  A past volunteer, Antonia, put it best when she made a tribute poem for Eddie.

EDDIE THE MAN
Whenever we need a helping hand
Or just casually playing in the sand
We know we can count on Eddie
He’ll take us anywhere once we’re ready
Always with a smile on his face
He drives the boat with such grace
Nothing is too hard for him
Forever he can swim and swim
Without Eddie the Boss
We’d probably all be at a loss

As fate would have it Mike landed himself in Bocas working at Palmar Tent Lodge following two years of giving back in Ethiopia through the peace corps.  Not wanting to stop helping indigenous populations he took up an interest followed by a passion in developing our programs in Panama.  Mucho amor amigo.

Whitney Mirts: Director of Education

As a globetrotting educator we are blessed to have Whitney helping develop the organization and its education program.  We are happy to have her provide a better education to children in the wet jungle of Panama since she was previously posted up in the deserts of the Middle East.  She makes it rain!
