Bienvenidos Amigos

Hope your having a good day and end it wanting to experience our world of giving. Give & Surf is a 501(c)3 non-profit in Bocas del Toro, Panama whose mission is to empower the indigenous community of Bahia Honda through a number of educational and community development programs. Our current programs include the Monso Chi Escuelita (a preschool of twenty 3-5 year olds), adult english classes, a summer camp, after school program, sustainable chicken egg project, and a new Bahia Honda baseball team. The Circus Passes Through

We were welcomed a few weeks back by some talented visitors from Argentina who put on a great show for the kids.  After the demonstration/show the kids were ecstatic to try out the never before seen instruments and circus tricks themselves.  This was a first for everyone and it is so great to expose the children to new activities and personalities through special days like this.  If you have a special talent that you would like to share with our children please email us at info@giveandsurf.org or call locally at 6465-9405.  We welcome anyone to come for the day and entertain the kids of Bahia Honda.  Enjoy the pics from the epic day below and  visit our FACEBOOK page for more pics!

 

 

Thank You Millstone Middle School!

A few weeks back we received a wonderful package from Millstone Middle School and in it included some awesome gifts for the girls of our after-school program in addition to english books that will be added to the library we are constructing.  They were thrilled to receive these presents and spent the day learning different braids, trying out the new accessories, enjoying a few laughs, and exchanging many smiles.  Our female volunteers led them through demonstrations as the guys took care of baseball practice.  Big thanks to the Millstone Middle School, maestra Audrey Ferraro, and all those that support our programs.  ENJOY!

 

 

After-School Program

School is back in session and we are excited to turn our summer camp into an after-school program for the Bahia Honda community.  Kids 1st-6th grade are now enjoying their afternoons expanding their minds with activities, english, math, sports, and arts/crafts.  Our summer camp was a great program for transitioning and introducing this program to the community.  Our volunteers have enjoyed their first after-school days with number games, arts/crafts, math games, english lessons, bingo, and more.  Enjoy the pictures and look for more during the school year.
