If you're an outdoorsy, adventurous person who loves the water, then Bocas is the place for you! From surfing and snorkeling to hiking and biking, Bocas has everything the outdoor adventurer could dream of!
Many volunteers ask if they have to be a surfer... the answer is no! Surfing is a passion of some of our staff & volunteers, however if you don't surf there are plenty of other outdoor, water-related activities for you to participate in!
Want to surf? Check out more info at: https://thebocasbreeze.com/surf/bocas-del-toro-surf/
We recommend buying a used board or renting a board once you get to Bocas instead of paying expensive airline board bag fees!
And check out the blog from our former Volunteer Director, Drew Berger:
With local tours led by Rutilio Milton of Bahia Honda, you will see sloths, caimans & more before heading into the bat cave that Rutilio first discovered many years ago!
Led by the indigenous women of San Cristobal, learn how cacao grows and the chocolate making process. Lots of taste testing involved :)
Indulge in local Panamanian cuisune! Learn to make traditional coconut bread with Vanesa and her mom Carmen.
